I can't recall seeing any functional specifications regarding your database (language used, who accesses it, multiple access requirements). These should be on the brief and it may be worth pulling it all together with a comprehensive update.
Do you have any idea how large the database will be? Ball-park figures to start with, where it will be located ...
A reminder that your preliminary submission of AS 3.1 (conceptual design and all related documentation) is due this week so I can give you more detailed feedback on your way to completing both Achievement and Unit Standards. The goal for completion of AS 3.1 is week 8 this term. If you can gather your documentation into a folder, that would be appreciated.
There is no need to have any code working for AS 3.1. A relatively detailed outline of all forms and reports would be fantastic as well as how the program is intended to function. Remember AS 3.1 is all about the concept … getting the plans/designs/requirements to a stage where you could give them to a professional programmer to complete for you. Ideally the programmer would not have to get back to you and ask you any questions about the layout of any output, nor what the program will look like or how it will function.
